Hanging Kitchen ShelvesPosted: April 22, 2013
Putting shelves up against your refrigerator may be a fun addition to your own kitchen. We have found a lot of our furniture at antiques flea markets for great prices, along with several fun home decor items. I know some friends from all over the country who have found local antique flea markets in their area, so if you don’t have one already, I would recommend going on a hunt for a good one. This past Sunday we found this small wall shelf. It has a distressed sea green paint finish and made of sturdy wood. Our kitchen is tiny but we’re always on the lookout for how to make it look nicer as well as more efficient. As someone who cooks at least 6 days out of the week, extra shelf space for my pantry items is extra appreciated. I used some sturdy thick twine we had in our crafts closet to give the frame something to hang from and then used a heavy duty magnet to hold down the twine. Et voila! A new shelf for my kitchen. It looks cute, matches our color scheme, and has lots of space to have my jars filled with spices within reach while I’m cooking up each nights meal. I like to use these jam jars to hold the larger items such as almonds, garlic cloves, chili peppers, rice, beans…well, you get the gist.
